Assoc. Prof. Min Zhang will give an open talk on Explainability, Robustness and Fairness in Recommendation Systems On Tuesday December 4th kl10:00-11:00 at NTNU Gjøvik and on Wednesday December 5th kl15:00-16:00 at NTNU Gløshaugen F2, Gamle Fysikk
Abstract:
There are two parts in my talk. In the first part, I would like to give a brief introduction to the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University (THUCS).
In the second part, I will discuss on the recent research progress of my research group on recommendation systems.
Nowadays, given the strength of artificial intelligence in many research and applications, more powerful AI approaches are expected, and discussions on several essential problems are rising, including explainability and robustness, and hence the fairness as the other side of the coin has also been called for attention. In this talk, I will discuss on the three factors in the background of recommender systems, in which these are the significant and trending topics. Some recent progresses on heterogeneous explainable recommendation will be introduced, together with our efforts on making robust recommendation on different scenarios of warm and cold start, and our attempt on fairness-aware recommendation. These researches have been published on related top-tier international conferences such as WWW2018, SIGIR20018, IJCAI 2018, CIKM 2018, etc. I would also like to discuss on some open questions to the three issues with the audience.
